Well hello, email friends! It’s been a minute. But I promise I’ve been gone for a good reason… Actually, two reasons!
This past fall I gave birth to an adorable set of twins! Believe it or not I have always wished for twins and I feel so completely blessed to have these beautiful babies rounding out our little (big!) family.
Life as a mom of four has been an adventure these past four months, and I’m sure it will make for some entertaining content moving forward. But for the most part my writing has been focused on picture book manuscripts because…
More big news: I officially have a literary agent!
I’m so excited to announce that I’m represented by Esty Loveing-Downes at Arthouse Literary Agency and look forward to bringing lots of beautiful books into the world with her!
How’d I swing that while on maternity leave? It’s actually a pretty amazing story. A talented writer/artist and thoughtful critique partner of mine - Grace Coffey - alerted me to a MSWL (manuscript wishlist) tweet that matched a book of mine she’d previously critiqued. So, even thought I was on hiatus I decided to send the book off. Esty immediately asked to set up a call and the rest is history!
Though my intention was to take the year of 2024 “off,” (ha!) I am leaning into this exciting chapter as these carefully planted seeds begin to blossom. I know there is a home for my work in the world and I can’t wait to see where it lands. I’m incredibly thankful for my mom, in-laws, and our whole wonderful support network for helping me hold down the fort. Especially my incredibly supportive husband who keeps all six of us afloat while pursue my dreams.
I have so much more to share, but that’s all for now. Please stay tuned for more!
